A healthy dose of perspective

Long time no post. Lots of life, lots of blessings.
Today I visited a patient who lives in the back of a garage furnished with a couch and table, three kitchen chairs and a TV sitting atop a 1ft by 2ft cabinet to hold his clothes. He slept on the broken down couch with his single blanket, walked a bare concrete floor, and showered in an unkept bathroom with 1 towel. No family or friends to speak of. Basically alone.
This evening I attended a seminar about how to manage money and was fed a good meal.
And it dawns on me...how good do I have it that I can actually choose where to spend money, while others don't even have money to spend. You see it in the pictures from other countries, but here? Literally 5 minutes from my house? I pass that house every day, wrote it off as a garage. Thank you Lord for my incredible blessings, please do not allow me to lose sight of perspective.
